THEORY, ORGANIZATION, AND PERSPECTIVE:


The United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP) aims to offer resettlement chances to tens of thousands of refugees annually through its global operations. In addition to case processing, migration health exams, cultural orientation training, coordinated transportation, and management of a travel loan and collections program, IOM offers the USRAP a variety of services and assistance. It is the organizational duty of the Department of Operations and Emergencies (DOE), and more especially of the Resettlement and Movement Division (RMM), to give direction, supervision, and guidance to IOM's worldwide assistance for all resettlement projects.

Critical support and processing services for resettlement to the United States are provided by the Resettlement Support Center (RSC) under the United States Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP). IOM oversees the RSC for Pakistan in accordance with an MOU with the US State Department's Bureau for Population Refugees and Migration (PRM). The US Resettlement Program in Pakistan is overseen by RSC Pakistan. RSC Pakistan assists with security and medical screenings, prepares applications for review by US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) officers, provides support to visiting USCIS officers, informs US resettlement agencies about new arrivals, and provides Cultural Orientation (CO) training to those leaving the country.

The Project Assistant is in charge of carrying out communications activities, with the following tasks and responsibilities falling under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission in Pakistan and the Project Officer, Communications, RSC Pakistan, the direct supervision of the Senior Project Assistant, Communications, RSC Pakistan, and with oversight and direction from the Project Focal Point, Communications, RSC Pakistan:

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
INSTRUCTION



Six years of work experience in addition to a completed secondary education are prerequisites.
four years of work experience combined with a bachelor's degree in the social sciences or a similar discipline

HISTORY


outstanding proficiency with Word, Excel, and the Internet
An advantage is having experience creating educational curricula, teaching, and delivering training.

It is preferable to be familiar with IOM's administrative, financial, and business regulations and procedures as well as the implementation of the USRAP program.
